Queens Tech Corner: Timothy Bogush and David Bowen Hernandez or LawLink
Can you tell us a little about your company and how you got your start?
We are a legal tech startup, currently assisting clients and their lawyers with operations involving their cases. Through my work at a Queens law firm, I found that a major disconnect exists between lawyers and their clients, especially in contingency fee-based legal markets. To clients, their case seems distant and uncertain, and lawyers often find it difficult to juggle their legal work with solid client communication, often causing clients to seek out other attorneys. We aim to bridge that gap and make for a more favorable outcome for all involved.
What is your latest project, and why are you excited about it?
After successfully training AI to draft “motions for summary judgment on liability,” we have been able to set forth a system of legal training for AI that will next help us to train AI to draft almost any legal document. This process, without compromising on the quality of work, as most base AI models do, can significantly decrease the amount of time attorneys spend on drafting and theorizing, allowing them to take on more clients and help change more people’s lives. We are incredibly excited to see where this can go!
Why are you excited about the future of tech in Queens?
Queens is the largest borough in New York City, and in many ways, it’s the best of both worlds – urban-like diversity and village-like community. With this “attitude” and culture, Queens’ talented and passionate youth can achieve almost anything they put their minds to if they come together. This is precisely what organizations like the Queens Chamber of Commerce and Queens Tech Corner clearly set out to do. With more efforts like this, the Queens tech world is destined for greatness.
