Queens Tech Corner: Marfry Hernandez of Zion Quest
Can you tell us a little about your company and how you got your start?
My path into tech began with Lucky Bodega, a web series I created and produced. I hired a software engineer to build a site that hosted episodes, offered behind-the-scenes content, introduced the cast, and sold merch. Working alongside him—asking many questions and learning as my vision came alive. It was the hands-on experience that first opened the door to tech for me.
What connection do you and your team have to Queens?
Queens is where my family raised me, and its vibrant diversity has inspired who I am and the work I’m most passionate about. Currently, my team and I are grateful participants of the Queens Chamber of Commerce Tech Incubator program.
What’s your latest project and why are you excited about it?
Zion Quest is my latest project! Zion Quest is a universe where creativity is our common language. Here, creators and explorers take on interactive Missions that spark artistic expression through art, music, poetry, and short videos. With a gamified feel, every Mission is an opportunity to channel the essence of your imagination, observations, and connect with others on a deeper level. Unlike algorithm driven spaces, Zion Quest offers recognition with a human touch; motivating, uplifting, and designed to celebrate people, not just posts. I am thrilled to provide an alternative to Gen Z and others looking forward to evolving from social networking to Creative Networking.
It’s Queens Tech Corner time! The Queens Tech Corner is a monthly profile where we shine a spotlight on tech entrepreneurs doing exciting things right here in Queens. This month’s featured tech entrepreneur is Marfry Hernandez, Founder of Zion Quest, a web-based social networking app that enables users to select a Quest, generate a profile card, and access a homepage that allows them to interact with other users by participating in Missions consisting of creative challenges involving the submission of art, music, poetry, and short videos.
